New Blog

Information is sometimes hard to sort through.  When moving to Johnson our circumstances changed drastically.  My ideas about things changed drastically.  We went from having a monthly income to a bump in some paperwork with work study which caused zero employment.  What to do, What to do?  Deep breath...  Take an adventure we never thought would happen.  Most importantly grow spiritually, intellectually, dare I say even physically, and of course emotionally.  While we have experienced ups and downs in the last three years, one thing has been experiencing God's goodness through blessings and provision.  Our family has learned to look at life and people through different lenses.  I think about respecting people where they are at and that takes a lot of work.  That means people who do not agree, like even with this blog.  It is OK!!!  Remember, however, this blog purpose is to help people in our community.  It is easy to say what people should do but we are going to try to make this a place of information.  It is not about what you have or don't have to do.  All of this is for informational purposes.  You do not have to do any of it.  You do not have to agree with any of it.  I have seen and heard so much yucky stuff lately and I am done.  I am done with that.  Let's step back for a minute.  No one in my neighborhood should be hungry and yet it seems sometimes this happens. I am done with that.  Done.  I do not know the solutions but if resources exist than lets plug people into them and maybe think about what our opinion is. I know by writing a blog like this I put myself out there.  I make my family vulnerable to people's critical judgement.  My prayer is that this is helpful to those who need it.  If you aren't the audience of this please withhold your judgement.  It is not that I am trying to say only those who agree need reply, but I am asking for the love of God to for once censor what you say.  I know these are sensitive topics but the basis of this blog is to help those who are in need.  You  may think no one should ever fall into that category and I am a fan of that!  I wish no one did.

Look for information on how to navigate TN Department of Human Services, what is available to you, etc.  If you know of resources that you think would be helpful please let me know.

My prayer is people find great encouragement in dark times.  My hope is that when times are stressful that the love of Christ is displayed to others and that when the church lacks we will never forget the time in our life when we had to (fill in the blank).   I pray for our children to learn that you do not go to school for ministry but that life is ministry.  That our hearts are shaped and molded for us to impact our future communities.  For now I pray that where we lack in funds we show great love and passion to all that we encounter.
